winter weather this morning! was so refreshing and senses wakening:-nine degrees, light crisp frost, sky hinted with red/orangelighted sun rays...beautiful :) would be nice to have just a little bit more snow... it really doesn't feel a bit as cold as those days when it was windy and wet! i really enjoyed walking my girl to school. and after that it has been about tidying up, weekend's ahead and possibly mother and sister passing by when heading back home. now i am going to sit down for a few minutes, perhaps listening a good music, reading something..? just enjoying! have a nice weekend :)
After months of battles and high-tension fighting, the 2008 Game & Game World Championship (GNGWC) came to its climactic close on Nov. 16, and one Atlantica Online player proved that he was indeed the best: "Kiru of the wind" from South Korea.
Since August, Atlantica players around the world had fought to reach the pinnacle in their respective regions by competing in Atlantica's Free Leagues. The top two combatants from the six areas - Europe, Southeast Asia, North America, Korea, South America, and Japan - after proving themselves at the regional finals, convened at the G-Star Exhibition Hall in Seoul to duke it out for the title of Atlantica world champion.
These 12 finalists were divided into two groups, from which they battled each player in their pool. The two with the best records in group play would make their way to the semi-finals, and the fighting was fierce as these masters of the Atlantica world tried to prove their strategic supremacy. From Group A, "Kiru of the wind" was joined by "102" from Japan, while "pk" of South Korea and "Xalor" of Singapore finished first and second, respectively, in Group B.
In the semi-finals, both Kiru of the wind and pk shut out their opponents, 2-0, as both continued their string of flawless fighting; neither of the two had yet to lose a match. The finals also represented a rematch between the finalists from Korea. Back on Sept. 28, pk claimed that regional title by sweeping three straight battles against Kiru of the wind. Would pk repeat his dominance? Or would Kiru have his revenge? Fans within the halls of the G-Star exhibition were anxious to discover the answer.
This time, Kiru of the Wind stormed out to an early lead, winning the first two fights in the best-out-of-five match. But pk came back to win the third bout and to keep the contest close. But it wasn't enough, as Kiru of the wind won the fourth fight, earning the right to be called Atlantica world champion.
In the consolation final, Xalor defeated 102 to place third in the competition.
The guy who boast his skill to me every shall pk with the champion, lol
Before tonight, 99.9999999999% of British people didn't know who David Van Day was.
Now they do.
He's a monumental nitwit.
It's been alleged that, in the Seventies and Eighties, tonight's I'm a Celebrity newcomer was a pop singer with Dollar. I've fished out a Dollar song on a compilation album and can confirm that singing is not his primary talent. It's whingeing. At whingeing he's a virtuoso, a natural, a leader in the field. Or at any rate jungle. All that huffing and squawking about having to sleep in a cage then a cave, as if he'd expected a four-star honeymoon suite with valet and visits from a chocolate-coated teenage chambermaid.
At first, when he and his fellow newcomer Timmy Mallett were put in the cages, I thought I was going to sympathise with him. Especially when the original contestants refused to give up their luxury items in exchange for releasing the captives.
Nicola (for any non-viewers: two beach balls strapped to a bewigged ironing board) wouldn't even give up her mascara. Thanks Nicola, I thought. Thanks for COMPLETELY MAKING A MOCKERY of the REGRETTABLY GENEROUS blog I wrote about you yesterday saying you were a good sport, potential winner, utterly undeserving of the nickname Frankenstein's Munter, etc. (I don't think anyone has actually called her this yet -- just getting my defence in early.)
But once Van Day had waddled his way into camp puffing and bleating I was back to thinking her a LEDGE, as that charming six-year-old Frank Spencer impressionist who goes by the name of Joe Swash would squeak.
Anyway. Van Day is touchy, wet, self-centred, babyish, petulant, conceited, arrogant, pompous and enragingly argumentative.
Let's hope to God he doesn't get voted out, he's brilliant.
Friday, November 21, 2008, 09:13 AM GMT [Politics]
I have watched a lot of coverage about the John Sergeant affair, and time after time the behaviour of the voters is held up as an example of that 'good old British support for the underdog'. That the judges were the 'bad guys', the 'experts', the ones that knew what was best for the show, and the voters sensed this, and so gave them a bloody good kicking. Just goes to show the 'people' didn't take kindly to being told what to do.
It was again on Question Time last night, then immediately after on Politics, the same thing, even Hazel Blears with Paxman earlier had the insufferable gall to use it to show you can't push the ordinary people around, they knew what they wanted, and they were damn well going to show these stuck-up judges and put them in their place. She was her chirpy perky lovable Salford lass self at her most sick-making. (don't you just want to give her a great big, tight, tight, ever-so TIGHT squeeze?
I was on the edge of my seat waiting for someone, ANYONE to make the so obvious connection between the show and the referendum.

Its so nice to see that in the present financial debacle our government refuses to acknowledge that restraint may be in order. Apparently they are going to recruit another 50,000 persons in the near future. I don't know what these new civil servants are going to be doing, apart that is from watching their pension entitlement increase but hey! a job's a job.
I would like to start out this blog by saying IS HE NUTS! Not only does he show no remorse forwhat he did to Shawn Michalels and his wife but he makes it out to be like hes the hero that has cured a plauge or somethin. He has the nerve and the audacity to say that what happened was not only shawns fault but the fault of the wwe fans?! Chris Jericho used to be called lionHeart but from what ive been seeing during his first title reign afterShawn MIchaels Retina injury he has done nothing but whine complain and dodge responsibility.Just becuase your a champion doesnt mean you dont have to work hard like everyone else in the locker room who would claw and scratch at the oppurtunity to become champions themselves, its utterly revolting that Jericho treats the title and fellow superstars with such disrespect. i am well aware that im rehashing old news so now ill come to current events. in the cage match between jericho and batista. jericho used a foreign object to help him win the match, now cage matches are no dq so i cant fault jericho for that, but it showed just like in otherthings he has done recently that jerichos self rightious image is a bit diluded.now doing whatever it takes to win is not a new concept but jerichos ego is so inflated he probalbly thinks he did everyone a favor, mostly himself but thats probably what he thought.now onto the future. cena Vs jericho, now the return of John cena has been highly anticipated and personaly i hope cena wins but either way it should prove to be a great match.
George Takei, who played Mr Sulu in the original Star Trek television series, is currently deep in the Australian jungle, where he's favourite to win the latest series of I'm a Celebrity... Which means he won't have seen the trailer for the new Star Trek movie - and perhaps it's just as well.
The moral codes of the 1960s: the original Star Trek
The two-minute trailer is stirring up controversy because it suggests that the franchise has been "sexed up" to appeal to the next generation of Trekkies. The crew of the Enterprise, as their twentysomething selves, are seen boldly going where William Shatner and his crew never went - to bed with each other. One fleeting clip could be from Basic Instinct as two bodies writhe in the gloom, and the new, youthful Lieutenant Uhura is seen whipping her top off. There's also lots of fighting, menace, zippy action sequences, even a car chase. Looks quite promising, actually.
It's a long way from the original Star Trek, which was constrained by the moral codes of the 1960s. However, the TV series wasn't without its sex appeal: Nichelle Nichols, as the voluptuous, micro-skirted communications officer Uhura, always sat with her well-turned pins in full view. Some of the alien life forms were spectacularly beautiful; and the mere presence of Mr Spock - half-human, half-Vulcan - pointed to an inter-species relationship somewhere in the past.
All science fiction reflects the time in which it is created as much as the time it looks forward to. For instance, 2001: A Space Odyssey is a masterpiece, never bettered in its special effects. Yet, in its fashions, speech patterns, its Cold War politics, it will be forever stuck in 1968.
The new Star Trek movie - due next summer - may be set in the 23rd century, but it will always bear the sheen of 2009. That's how the space-time continuum works.
It's taken a long time and a lot of negotiations, but the Tories have finally pulled off what looks like a realignment with the Ulster Unionist party. It marks the end of a 34 year hiatus, and in effect will bring one new MP and one new MEP onto the Tory benches.
The latter, Jim Nicholson was always going to be a happy camper within the Tory party, but the Ulster Unionist's single Westminster MP has a consistent record of voting with Labour. It's thought that much of the delay in the announcement came down to making sure Lady Sylvia Hermon was fully on board.
It's a small but significant step for the only national party with the word 'unionist' in its title that has the lowest tally of MPs outside England: experiencing a Westminster 'wipe out' in 1997 in both Scotland and Wales was, in part at least, a consequence of its implacable opposition to devolution.
Now it is the only national party with parlimentary, European, council and regional representation in all four constituent parts of the United Kingdom. The Ulster Unionists, as they will remain until negotiations are concluded on a common name, now start from its lowest representative base since partition.
But the locals are hopeful of picking up on feelgood factor amongst their own voters from the idea of being attached to the party of government in Westminster for the first time in over a generation (that's if Cameron can steer his party through the choppy waters of the next 18 months).
They hope too to give themselves clear definition as a secular and open alternative to the decidedly regionalist and Protestant Democratic Unionist of Peter Robinson.
I suspect this will be a useful spark of light in David Cameron's ongiong PR offensive. The next stop is the European elections which should easily deliver the party's new incumbent.
But the real opportunity to begin a serious fightback locally will be the next Westminster election. Last time, the Ulster Unionists crumbled losing four out of their five seats including their then leader (now Tory peer) David Trimble.
Realistically, two out of the four seats are probably out of reach next time: Trimble's former seat of Upper Bann and Sammy Wilson's base in East Antrim. One, Willie McCrea's South Antrim seat looks eminently vulnerable and another, South Belfast remains in a three way melting pot.
But, and here's the test of whether this is a real political move or just window dressing for London Tories, it will require serious input from London in time and resources to deliver suffice talent as candidates for both seats to guarantee gains.
So far as the UUP is concerned, the cupboard is embarrassingly bare.
Names being bandied about at the moment include Colonel Tim Collins. They will certainly need people of his profile and calibre if they are to close a door on their own at times less than glorious past, and begin to deliver the promise of a new start.
The task will neither be as arduous as some of the party's local critics believe, nor as easy as the merger's proponent are keen to suggest. As with Scotland and Wales, the Westminster front will be focused on right and limited targets.
Take them and the leadership of both parties will have demonstrated a return to health. Fail and a golden opportunity will have been lost. Voting for a prospective party of government is one thing.
But voting for party that has imposed tight fiscal constraint on local spending ministeries is quite another. Come the next general election, they will need to make this moment really count.
Hello everyone! I've been a hugefan of WWE since the 80s. However on tv i have to admit that raw has always been the better show for me. In fact while i never missed a raw I will admit 2 missing a quite of few smackdowns after the brand extensions. however a few months back i lost my cable and had to get all my wwe action from smackdown! I must say that i really got into the fact that smackdown tends to let more new up and commers shine such as The Brian Kendrick, shelton Benjamin, and Vladamir koslov, to name a few. As well as the aditions of guys like HHH, Jeff hardy, the WWE Divas title and other things i might be changing my toon.
Ive since got back cable but i must say Raws lost a bit of edge. Sure there are still greats like Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, & a few others, as well as being impressed by the rise in the tag devisiion on both shows.. finally!! (but still not enough if you ask me.) But Raw now also seems to have its share of guys that just dont do it for me anymore, such as, batista, rey mysterio, who in his hey day was amazing but just seems to injory prone lately, and though I admire his heart and noticable improvement, i can never get behind John Cena.
So which is the better show? Everyone has their own opinion. Id say in the long run, Raw will always be better, but as of late I find myself waiting more and more with anticipation just to see what smackdowns up to next.
P.s.
for those of you wondering why I didnt include ECW in this little mix of whos better.. The new ECW isnt even allowed in the same paragragh with Raw and Smackdown. But I'll leave my rand about the WWE's version of "The New" ECW to another blog. That is a story in itself
This match was history, i believe it helped change Sports entertainment and set the blue prints out for one of the greatest era's in wrestling history, an era in wich defeated a company that once reign over the WWE the WcW
